The Aconcagua Park, summits, mounts, glaciers and more

Physical Conditioning:
This is a high-altitude mountain expedition. Do NOT treat it as a walk-up. It cannot be stressed enough that this climb is demanding and exhausting, on both a physical and mental level. It is important that you are in strong condition to maximize your experience.

A good goal should be to ascend 2,500 feet carrying 35 lbs. in a 2 to 3 hour period. Hiking with water weight is a great plan because you can dump the weight after the climb is complete. If you have questions or concerns about physically preparing for your trip, please contact X-A.

Gear:
Please review and follow the Aconcagua Equipment List. All gear is mandatory. For time spent exploring in town, we recommend casual clothing (Levi's, Patagonia , shorts, etc.). Basically, if it needs starch or is not wash and wear, leave it at home! Another thing to note is that while climbing gear is available for purchase in Argentina, it is three times as expensive, so be sure to bring all the items that you need with you. If you have gear-related questions please do not hesitate to contact us. .
