This route is more technical than the NW Route and a variation of the standard Polish. The approximation to Plaza Argentina BC through the scenic and less transited Vacas Valley, plus the high altitude mixed climb of ice and rock, makes this intermediate/advanced route a classic in international mountaineering.

Day 1
Arrival to Mendoza.

Day 2
Travel from hotel in Mendoza to hotel in Penitentes. Lunch in Valle Uspallata (en route to Penitentes)

Day 3
Shuttle from Penitentes to the entrance of Aconcagua Provincial Park (Valle de las Vacas). Hike to Pampa de Las Leñas.

Day 4
Hike from Pampa de Las Leñas to Casa de Piedra.

Day 5
Hike from Casa de Piedra to Plaza Argentina Base Camp.

Day 6
Rest day at Plaza Argentina.

Day 7
Load carry to Camp 1. Return to base camp.

Day 8
Rest day at Plaza Argentina.

Day 9
Climb to Camp 1.

Day 10
Climb to Camp 2

Day 11
Summit bid up Mt. Aconcagua, False Polish Route

Day 12
Extra summit day in case of bad weather.

Day 13
Descent from Camp 2 to Plaza Argentina Base Camp.
